Ten Oaks, located at the northwest corner of Interstate 10 and Barker Cypress Road, is a master-planned corporate business environment with a major focus on medical and health related facilities.
Texas Children's Hospital and The Methodist Hospital are presently constructing two hospitals and medical office buildings totaling over 1.2 million square feet of improvements in Ten Oaks. The first phase of this new Texas Medical Center-West involves an investment of over $500 million, and encompasses a tract of land roughly equal to that of the original Texas Medical Center. Completion of phase one is scheduled for early in 2010.
Ten Oaks is situated in The Energy Corridor, the central business district in the west Houston metropolitan area. Located in the immediate vicinity of Ten Oaks are corporate or division headquarters for major companies such as BP, Conoco/Phillips, Shell Oil, Exxon/Mobil Chemicals U.S.A., Cabot Oil and Gas, Global Santa Fe, Transocean, and Diamond Offshore Drilling. The Corridor is home to numerous non-energy companies as well, including Sysco, The Wood Group/Mustang Engineering, Sitel Corporation and Aker Solutions.
Major employers are attracted to convenient access by the well-educated workforce found surrounding the Corridor and the variety and quality of housing opportunities in the area.
