New amenities add to the attractions of Westway Park as a corporate address, bringing lodging for visitors and workout facilities for employees and residents.

Construction on a three-story La Quinta Inn & Suites begins this quarter with a grand opening expected in the summer. Hotel developers, The Fussell Group, selected a site near the intersection of Clay Road and Westway Park Boulevard, one block east of the West Sam Houston Tollway. The hotel was designed to spare six mature, specimen-size oak trees.

Westway Park has become a place to work and play, with the opening of the $5.2 million, 46,000 square-foot Westside YMCA. Bailey Architects designed the complex on 17 acres to accommodate future expansion. Just across Clay Road from Westway Park, the Westside Y offers a gym, three full soccer fields and practice fields, workout areas, weight training and aerobics studios, childcare facilities, plus an indoor aquatic center with 8-lane, 25-meter lap pool, therapy pool and sauna.

Westway Park is easily accessible to traffic from I-10 and 290 via the West Sam Houston Tollway. Tenants and owners in the 100% occupied Park include the Cameron division of Cooper Cameron, Stewart Title, Ryland Homes, Invensys, PLC, Nextel, DeVry University and P & O Nedloyd.
