Two-Acre Tract in Westway Park Slated for
Next-Generation Holiday Inn Hotel

A next-generation Holiday Inn will soon be breaking ground in Westway Park, the 150-acre master-planned business complex located at the intersection of the Sam Houston Tollway and Clay Road.  Wolff Companies recently sold a 2-acre tract of land to Clinton Investments, who plans to build the 5- to 6-story, new concept Holiday Inn Hotel on the site.

Holiday Inn’s new concept brings the iconic heritage of the Holiday Inn brand to life in a modern, innovative design that will set new standards for business travelers and families alike.  The 122-room hotel will feature a full-service restaurant, business center, workout center, extensive meeting facilities on the first floor, swimming pool, guest laundry and will reflect Holiday Inn’s new look and feel.  The hotel is only the second next-generation Holiday Inn in the state—the first was launched in November 2005 as the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites College Station-Aggieland.

A next-generation concept Holiday Inn, like this one in College Station, will be built at the Sam Houston Tollway and Clay Road. The new hotel will focus on business travelers working in the Westway Park complex.

Wolff Companies is delighted that Clinton Investments and Holiday Inn selected Westway Park as the location for the second next-generation Holiday Inn Hotel in the state of Texas.  As Westway Park is a mixed-use business complex, the many business owners, residents and employees will benefit from having a full-service nationally recognized quality hotel just minutes away.

The project will break ground during the first quarter of 2008. The construction company selected to complete the project has not been announced. Current plans indicate that the hotel should open in late 2008.   The buyer was represented in the transaction by Omni Properties and broker Jim Scarborough.

“Westway Park is a great site for the hotel as it is accessible to numerous office buildings in the area.  The Holiday Inn Hotel will offer many features to accommodate business meetings and the business traveler,” said Jim Scarborough, predevelopment coordinator with Omni Properties.

Centrally located along the Sam Houston Tollway, or “Techway” corridor, one of the fastest developing technology corridors in the country, Westway Park is well suited for a variety of land uses including office, service/technology facilities, retail, hotel and restaurants.  Major owners and/or tenants in the Park include Cameron, BJ Services Company USA, Invensys, Stewart Title, DeVry University, Nextel, P&O Nedlloyd, USFR Media Group, Broadstone at Westway Park, Seismic Exchange, St. Paul Travelers Co. Insurance and The Houston Apartment Association.

Additionally, Dienna Nelson Augustine’s 144,000 square foot office building, located at the intersection of Equity Drive and the Sam Houston Tollway, is nearing completion and is 80 percent leased, with NATCO Group taking over 50 percent of the building.

Wolff Companies has developed numerous mixed-use business complexes through the Greater Houston area including Westway Park, Interwood, Park 10, Ten Oaks, First Crossing, Windfern Forest, Beltway Business Park and Brookhollow.
