freight transporter, Averitt Express purchased more
than 30 acres to build its newest service center in Interwood.
Phase One includes over 62,000-square feet of office, terminal
and service facilities, operating 24-hours a day. It will
be
located in the park at the southwest corner of John F. Kennedy
Boulevard and Heathrow Forest Parkway. [view

Averitt
Express chose Interwood for its convenience to IAH
terminals and air cargo facilities as well as major ground
transportation routes. Locating the service center in a forested,
controlled, and master-planned business park was important
given the size of Averitt's capital investment.
Strategically
positioned as an inter-modal transportation center, Interwood's
roster of distribution companies continues to grow. Federal
Express built a $12 million regional hub and the U.S.
Postal Service's 734,000-square-foot regional center serves
more than 13,600 square miles and a population of almost five
million people. US FoodServices and Prime Source
Building Products also operate large distribution centers
there.
Its
location on the Sam Houston Tollway, close to U.S
59 North,I-45 North, andthe Hardy Toll
Road makes the park highly accessible both to customers
and employees.
