Wolff Companies purchased almost 40 acres on Clay Road , between the West Sam Houston Tollway and Gessner. The land will have a number of different potential uses in Wolff Companies' master-planned business development Westway Park .
Rapid development on Clay Road and along the Tollway earns a bullish outlook for the Techway , a section of the West Sam Houston Tollway lined with engineering, geosciences, and computer hardware and software companies.
Westway Park is midway between the Katy Freeway and U.S. 290. Newly relocated Tollway entry ramps have made Westway Park one of the most accessible locations in Houston .
The Cameron division of Cooper Cameron occupies a Class-A office building in Westway Park , and companies such as Stewart Title , Seismic Exchange , Time Warner's News 24 , and DeVry University have continued the area's upward momentum. Invensys , PLC, a $1 billion instrumentation and technology firm, begins construction on its Western Hemisphere headquarters in Westway Park this summer.
To the north, Panattoni Development is doubling the space in its Beltway 8 Office Park. Immediately to the south, Paragon Engineering 's expansion, offices for Enterprise Leasing , and the new Westside YMCA are significant area additions. Major infrastructure improvements are under development in the area. The widening of Clay Road through Cullen Park will dramatically improve access to booming West Houston residential communities.
Executive Vice President, David W. Hightower, represented Wolff Companies in the transaction. The seller, the Texas Department of Transportation, was represented by TxDOT personnel.
