Westway Park is now set to ring up retail sales with The Plazas at Westway Park. Vista Equities Group will kickoff construction in August on a 12,600-square foot retail center in Westway Park, Wolff Companies' 150-acre master-planned development at the intersection of the West Sam Houston Tollway and Clay Road, between I-10 and U.S. 290. Completion is slated for this coming spring.

Woody Mann, Jr., President of Vista Equities, announced the center's tenants will appeal to people who work, visit and live in Westway Park's corporate businesses, hospitality and multifamily properties.
Hermes Architects has designed The Plazas at Westway Park and the builder is The Ruskin Corporation. The site, at the corner of Clay Road and Westway Park Boulevard, borders Carolyn Wolff Park, a three-acre preserve that permanently protects almost 100 majestic Texas hardwood trees that have been flourishing there for more than a century.
Dennis Johnston of McDade Smith Gould Johnston Mason + Company represented Vista Equities in the land purchase. Westway Park is a dynamic business environment and very centrally located, Johnston said. There was a void in the market for an upscale, specialty retail project that would cater to the other businesses and to the residential community.
The new retail center adds yet another key ingredient to Westway Park's multi-use mix. The development is 100 percent occupied with owner-occupied and multi-tenant buildings housing high-profile companies such as Cooper-Cameron, Stewart Title, Nextel, P&O Nedlloyd, Ryland Homes, Seismic Exchange, DeVry University and Time Warner (News Channel 24). A LaQuinta Inn & Suites is scheduled for opening in September and The Broadstone at Westway Park residential community has just begun leasing. Approximately 38 acres remains available with ideal locations for corporate office and other commercial uses.
