Texas Children's Hospital has taken a bold step into Ten Oaks in the process launching Wolff Companies' 7th major business project. Responding to a critical need for specialized pediatric care services on Houston's booming west side, Texas Children's Hospital will build on 55 acres in Ten Oaks, the Wolff Companies development at the intersection of Barker Cypress Road and Interstate 10.
David S. Wolff, Chairman of Wolff Companies, along with members of his family, donated 10 acres of the land for the project. Mark A. Wallace, president and chief executive officer of Texas Children's Hospital, www.texaschildrenshospital.org, says Wolff Companies “shares our vision for the future.” He expects groundbreaking in mid-2005 on Phase One, a 50,000-square-foot pediatric health center to be built on 10 acres. Longer term plans, including a second hospital campus, professional buildings, and other medical facilities, are still being developed for the balance of the tract.

Texas Children's first facility will be completed just as this section of the reconstructed Katy Freeway is finished. With the reconstruction of the I-10/Barker-Cypress intersection into an urban overpass, this area stands certain to be the focus of growth in West Houston for years to come.
And with TCH as its cornerstone, Ten Oaks is set to become the hub of health care services for young families flocking out west. Approximately 24 acres remain available in Wolff Companies newest master-planned corporate development, ideal for office, retail, restaurant, or other high-quality uses.
