Winfield (“Win”) M. Campbell, president of Trees for Houston, www.treesforhouston.org accepted Wolff's donation of the wooded acreage to create the organization's first conservation easement.
“For land to qualify for a conservation easement, it must have special value,” said Campbell . “It may be for its history, scenic enjoyment, the natural habitat, or for the preservation of open space. Carolyn Wolff Park qualifies based on all of these factors.”

In other news around the park… The Broadstone at Westway Park , a 326-unit multi-family development by Alliance Communities is nearing completion. And the new 56-room LaQuinta is under construction, and scheduled for a late-2004 opening. Look for another announcement of a new retail development in the park in the coming weeks.
