Dear Friends,
The steady beat of good news from Ft. Bend County keeps right on rolling. Boosted by a growth rate 2.5 times greater than the State of Texas, Ft. Bend is also well above the 99th percentile of employment growth in the U.S. The county saw more than 7,300 new homes built in 2003, attracting another 23,000 new residents.

Wolff Companies' First Crossing development, at State Highway 6 and U.S. 90-A, anchors the intersection of Ft. Bend's phenomenal residential growth and its red-hot commercial development. A few of the park's latest developments… more financial institutions are banking on First Crossing as a prime location for retail and business customers. Compass Bank has purchased land for future expansion, making it First Crossing's fourth bank and Chase Bank is nearing an April 12 opening of its new prototype banking center, adjacent to Texas State Bank's recently opened location.
In other news from First Crossing… is under construction on University Medical Plaza is under construction on University Boulevard. The area continues to be a magnet for medical expansion with the recent $7.3 million Methodist Hospital Sugar Land Cancer Center and Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Health Center's occupational medicine program.

In coming weeks, another retail announcement is anticipated for First Crossing as sales of pad sites fronting State Highway 6 are expected to close soon.
All roads lead to First Crossing, and they are being readied to handle more traffic, with U.S. 90-A's expansion to 8 lanes, and the widening of State Highway 6. Also on tap for Ft. Bend EDC's March meeting, Newland Communities presented development plans for its eagerly anticipated new master-planned community.

All the developments in the 65-acre First Crossing master-planned office and business park are 100 percent occupied. High quality landscaping and approximately 1,000 trees surround the development. More than 85 percent of the available land has been sold with 8.5 acres remaining. These sites are ideal for professional, medical, financial, restaurant or office development.
