Texas Medical Center - West Campus Spurs Hotel Growth in West Houston

To meet the growing needs of the Texas Medical Center - West Campus and The Energy Corridor, Dallas-based Western International recently broke ground on a new Residence Inn by Marriott inWolff Companies' Park 10, a 550-acre master-planned, regional business center located in The Energy Corridor. Cameron Consolidates Worldwide Operations with Purchase of 86,000 Square Food Building in Westway Park

Cameron, a leading provider of flow equipment products, systems and services to worldwide oil, gas and process industries, recently completed an acquisition to consolidate its operations in Westway Park, Wolff Companies' 150-acre business complex located at the intersection of the Sam Houston Tollway and Clay Road. Cameron purchased the 86,000 square foot, Class A office building from Baker Hughes Corporation, which acquired the former BJ Services headquarters as part of its acquisition of the company. The building is adjacent to Cameron's existing 215,000 square foot building located at 4646 W. Sam Houston Parkway North, which is home to Cameron's Drilling & Production Systems. While Cameron's parent, Cooper Cameron, corporate offices remain on Loop 610, Cameron has a significant footprint in west Houston occupying several buildings in and around Westway Park.

No immediate plans have been announced for the property but studies are underway to assess the best approach to expand on the combined 20 acres.

Charles Gordon with CB Richard Ellis represented the buyer. Gordon represented Cameron in its original Westway Park acquisition in 2000. Mike Boyd and Conrad Bernard with Boyd Commercial represented the seller.

Westway Park comprises 19 buildings representing 2.2 million square feet of space and is home to more than 6,500 employees from national and international companies including Travelers Insurance, GE Oil & Gas, Stewart Title, Invensys, Sprint and Seismic Exchange.

Wolff Companies sale of 12.5 acres in Interwood to Houston-based Suhm Spring Works, Inc., is but the latest in a spate of current activity in the 486-acre business park, located at Beltway 8 and John F. Expansion of Park Row Nearing Completion

Holiday Inn Breaks Ground on Next-Generation Hotel in Westway Park

Clinton Investments has broken ground on a two-acre tract of land in Wolff Companies’ Westway Park, the 150-acre mixed-use complex located at the intersection of Sam Houston Tollway and Clay Road, moving forward with the development of its new concept, next-generation Holiday Inn.

Only the second in the state, the 122-room, five-story hotel will reflect the iconic brand’s new look and should be ready for guests in spring 2010. Holiday Inn’s new contemporary design, created to appeal to the Baby Boomer customer base, is evidenced throughout the hotel’s design and furnishings.

“With numerous national and international companies located in Westway Park, the hotel is strategically located to cater to business travelers, while also offering a comfortable option for families who visit the area,” said, David W. Hightower, executive vice president and chief development officer for Wolff Companies.

Additionally, the hotel will feature a full-service restaurant, business center, workout center, extensive meeting facilities, Holidome pool and activity area. The hotel adjoins Carolyn Wolff Park, a three acre urban arboretum that offers visitors a quiet refuge from business at the end of the day. Jim Scarborough, president of Clinton Investments represented developer in the site acquisition and is handling construction for the project.

The new Holiday Inn will provide another lodging option for the continuous traffic of domestic and international business travelers that visit Westway Park every day. Companies with headquarters’ or major operations in Westway Park that have national and worldwide business operations include GE Oil and Gas, Cameron, BJ Services USA, Invensys Process Systems, Seismic Exchange, Inc. and Superior Energy Services.
